Hello!

Welcome to Waves and Whales  

I have been wanting to start a blog about our lives for a while now and choosing a name has been so.very.hard!  I settled on Waves and Whales because the beach is my happy place.  The ocean gives me the calm relaxing feeling that we are striving for in our every day lives.  This blog is the place where I will be sharing our families journey towards minimalism and living a simpler life.  We will be sharing our favorite products, our families routines and adventures, and our DIY projects! 

A Little About My Pod

I'm Becky.  My husband, Dave, and I have been together for 15(!) years.  We have 3 children, Ella (4) and we just welcomed our boy/girl twins, Colin and Elise (3 months).  Since having the twins, I have been desperately working on getting our sh!t together...we really were a go-with-the-flow family of 3 but now with twins, time is so limited that getting the laundry in on time is suddenly necessary for survival.  We are so not naturally organized, disciplined people so this is our biggest adjustment!  For whatever reason, Dave and I like to start multiple home projects all at once...last spring we built a tree house, redid our kitchen floor, and refinished the basement all in a few months.  We are currently redoing our kitchen, updating landscaping and Dave has a car project he is working on for his brother....because that's what you do when you just had twins!  (For a while, I tried to come up with a blog name with the word Chaos in it...can you tell why?)

The Plan

My ultimate goal is to share our lives with you here with snapshots on Facebook and Instagram.  I also set up a group page where I'd love to have a sort of support/share group for moms who like me are just trying to get it together!  That group will have a weekly or monthly focus topic and everyone will be able to share their tips and progress on that area.  I am so excited for you to join us!
